What happens at the first stop smoking session?
At your first meeting with a coach, you'll talk about why you smoke and why you want to quit, as well as any attempts you've made to quit in the past. You'll also be able to decide on a quit date.
You don't need to be sure you want to quit or have a quit plan in mind before this meeting - we can help create those goals.
"You can use the time to talk your situation through with the coach without making a commitment. If you do decide to quit, the adviser can help you form an action plan and set a quit date, usually in a week or so."
Stop smoking aids
At your first session, you'll also discuss THR (Tobacco Harm Reduction) strategies that have worked in the and what has not.
We strongly encourage using nicotine replacement products, including vapes, patches, gum, pouches and many more. While these products are not medically approved or authorized - science has shown us what products have proven less risky and effective for reducing smoking harm.
Coaching is not required - but science again - has shown us that weekly meetings and nicotine titration used in tandem provide the best results. We can help you decide which type of treatment is right for you and how to use it.
There's evidence that e-cigarettes can help people stop smoking.
So if you want to use any nicotine replacement products to help you quit or coaching support from a stop smoking adviser to give you the best chance of success.

Our coaches may provide referrals non - evidence-based support. We may suggest or recommend other holistic options such as: hypnosis or acupuncture as sometimes you need multiple approaches to reach journeys.
